Maheen Level Tex Ltd. — Textile Power Distribution System with AVR | POWERtrac

Stable Voltage. Uninterrupted Production. That's the Standard Textile Manufacturing Demands.

In the textile industry, the quality of your power directly affects the quality of your product. Voltage fluctuations damage sensitive weaving and knitting machines. Unstable supply disrupts computerized production controls. Poor power factor inflates energy costs and strains equipment. For Maheen Level Tex Ltd. in Narayanganj — the heartland of Bangladesh's textile industry — POWERtrac engineered a power distribution system that tackles all three challenges simultaneously, with one standout addition that sets this installation apart: a dedicated 11 kV Automatic Voltage Regulator.

The Narayanganj Textile Power Challenge

Narayanganj's industrial density means grid supply quality can vary — voltage fluctuations during peak demand periods are a real and recurring challenge for factories in the area. For a textile facility running precision machinery, these fluctuations are not a minor inconvenience. They cause production rejects, trigger equipment faults, reduce machine lifespan, and force costly unplanned maintenance. A standard substation alone isn't sufficient. Maheen Level Tex needed a system that actively manages voltage — not just distributes it.

What POWERtrac Delivered

1250 kVA Power Transformer: A well-matched 1250 kVA transformer provides the primary power conversion for the facility — stepping down grid supply voltage to the utilization level required across all production and utility areas of the textile plant. Correctly rated for the factory's load profile, it ensures efficient, low-loss power delivery across all operational shifts.

11 kV HT Switchgear (VCB): Vacuum Circuit Breaker-based high-tension switchgear at the 11 kV primary level provides fast-acting fault protection and controlled isolation — safeguarding the transformer, the downstream distribution system, and all connected production equipment from the consequences of any grid-side fault or disturbance.

11 kV Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) — The Differentiator: This is what makes the Maheen Level Tex installation genuinely special. The 11 kV AVR continuously monitors incoming grid voltage and automatically corrects deviations — maintaining a stable, regulated output voltage to the transformer regardless of what the grid delivers. For textile machinery where precise voltage is critical to consistent fabric quality, consistent dyeing results, and uninterrupted computerized control, the AVR acts as an invisible guardian — absorbing every grid fluctuation before it can reach a single machine on the production floor. This level of voltage protection is a hallmark of the most sophisticated industrial power installations in Bangladesh.

LT Switchgear — 2000A: A 2000A low-tension switchgear panel manages controlled, protected distribution of power across all sections of the textile facility — production halls, utility areas, lighting systems, and ancillary equipment — with organized circuit segregation enabling easy load management and maintenance without production disruption.

Automatic PFI Plant — 750 kVAR: Textile machinery is inherently inductive — motors, drives, and looms all generate reactive power that, if uncorrected, inflates electricity bills and reduces system capacity. The 750 kVAR automatic Power Factor Improvement plant continuously tracks and corrects this reactive consumption in real time, maximizing the effective use of the installed transformer capacity, reducing energy costs, and ensuring full compliance with utility power quality requirements throughout every working shift.

The Result

A complete, voltage-stabilized textile power distribution system — uniquely strengthened by a 11 kV AVR — that gives Maheen Level Tex Ltd. in Narayanganj the most critical thing a textile facility needs: the confidence that voltage instability will never be the reason a machine stops, a batch is rejected, or a production target is missed.

From the first volt entering the HT switchgear to the last ampere reaching the production floor, every element of this system was engineered to protect, optimize, and sustain Maheen Level Tex's manufacturing operations for the long term.
